Clematis

Queen of ramble
Vanilla tangle
Sweet buttercup
On April amble
May flowers flow
Like sea-spray snow
O'er southern wall
Of chalk and yore
With sepal wings
Like butterfly
That butterflew
Into my heart
And settled still
My sense of loss
With scented hue
Of butterscotch
And chocolate.

Queen of ramble
Vanilla tangle
Rare buttercup
On evening amble
Whose petals flow
Like silk and dove
With pale balms
Of milk and love
Down ancient view
To ocean blue
From Heaven above
With mien as sweet
As one of Her smiles
Queen of mine
(flower I miss)
A friend to me
My Clematis.
