Riddle (flags)
I lead the way
Bring up the rear
Inspire hope
Pride and fear
Oft spotted spotted
I belong to Kings
And Queens
And Children
For who have loved me
More than these?
World-famous, moon-famous
Object of possession
Emblem of the free
On the land and in the air
All at sea.
I speak in tongues
Carried by Poles, on poles, to poles
Times and tide
Change with me
A standard
A warning
A colour
A flame
A signal
A celebration
An announcement
A game.
So lift me up
Let me down
That is all you'll ever do
I represent the whole wide world
Its citizens
And you.
What am I?
Clue: Do you surrender?
