Elephant and the villager

An elephant entered a village
Like an old wet shoe
I declare, said the elephant
As I borrow the space in which I stand
I am ready to try anything - even honesty!
A villager heard, and replied:
Fine elephant!
Since you have been honest about where you are
Your destiny will surely find you.
When the elephant heard such words
So softly spoken
A tear began to slow-march down her cheek
And the elephant and the villager became friends
Enjoying the days that were given to them
And remain so, to this very day.
