Artist and the Ogre

Shells

Mine eyes are caustic, they are dim
They've let too much the world get in
Or not enough I cannot tell
Why tears inside them swell and swell
Like little pearls within their shell.

Mine ears once brazen, now are sore
I've let too much the world in-pour
Or not enough I can't be sure
Why distant oceans in them roar
As twisted sea-shells at the shore.
