As a powder puff
Nor too wet
Where a print may sink
Then flood
And erase itself
Inside a blink
Nor too high
So lovers linking arms
Kicking over waves
Discover not
Nor too low
Where tides of fashion may whitewash
Avoid too heavy a soul
Lest others stumble into the hole
Or too light - too pale
So impressionisms fail.
