Artist and the Ogre

Sea-chest

Who would chance their only lives
Among the ocean-sands, and strive
To pull a sea-chest from a ship-wreck
Out the chilling crystal cold
Unless therein by legends vested
Promises of metal-gold?

My sea-faring heart, endeared
By pitch and toss of tempest-tears
Pulled a sea-chest from a ship-wreck
Out the chilling crystal cold
And dreaming of a fortune wrested
Found instead your treasure-soul.
