What is Love?

What have I become?

If I cannot know the sorrow
Of my only friends
What is left of me?
What have I become?
If I cannot spare a tear
Or a precious diamond
What good are a thousand prayers?
If I cannot listen to the stars
How can I be still enough?
I have no time to doubt
Righteousness is simple
If the Lord put me here
Who am I to grumble?
If fragments of His glory
Imagine the vase from which we came
Who can be in love
Without knowing God?
Who can know God
Without being in love?
Your scars would be beautiful
The world only a mirror
And Love is what I mean
By God.
