Cast your net on the other side

Once there was a woman who devoted herself Wholehearted to the service of the poor.
She took in the destitute
Comforted to the dying
Gave homes to orphans.
But where is my faith? said she
If there be God—please forgive me
When I raise my thoughts to Heaven
There is such convicting emptiness that
Those thoughts return upon me like sharp knives.
Those around her cried:
She who has no faith!
But spends her time in constant prayer
For the sake of others!
She, who will not let one tear come!
An orphan, who was also a priestess, answered:
‘Wisdom is simple
God above
God inside
Children of God
Cast your net on the other side.’
