What is Love?
What is Love?
A woman’s heart
A woman’s heart is like a tree
That multiplies and divides
In search of light
Yet for a tree to be in love
(And therefore life)
It must touch another’s flowers
Though it cannot move
And its roots can hardly be called legs!
So it sends for the honey bee…
And when that black and yellow creature arrives
It says: Gentle spirit, what is it you want?
Toi which the tree replies:
Love is sunlight, laughter water
Peace is just the breeze
Flowers my gentle deeds
So the bee goes
Sweetest of all God’s creatures
To bring this poem
From her ear
To yours.
