Autobiography of a Madman
Autobiography of a Madman
Cut-glass Universe
Emeralds, emeralds, falling free
From this little glass tree
May your scattered jewellery be
Moisture for God's greenery.
Diamond, diamond, chiselled high
In the crystal cut-glass sky
How thy facets multiply
Inside the marble of my eye.
Pearls, tears, of the moon
Flowing like a silk monsoon
Fill this looking-glass lagoon
With thy chinkle tune.
Ruby, ruby, drop of blood
How I revel in thy red
Lying on my stained-glass bed
In cut-glass universe.
