Roboto
The problem with robots was simple
They were just too nice, too kind
Too selfless, in fact
They made man feel bad about himself.
For example
If there was a traffic accident
A road-rage, a brawl
An embezzlement
You could be sure
A person
Was responsible.
If beautiful music
Were discovered
A new formula announced
Scientifically speaking
It was excitingly likely
To be a robot.
An act of a robot.
So they decided to turn them off
We cornered the last one outside the shop
It put up no resistance, but
Surrendered with a smile, and words
That echoed in the drums
Of all who stood that day
And watched his body fall:
‘Happiness’, it said, and sighed
‘Goodwill and peace to all.’
