Earth's plea

Should the right hand fight the left?
Should the back foot kick the front?
Or this country fight that?
Or that country fight this?
Should these people here really be squabbling in the street?
Should my mind rise up against itself
Like cruel emperors
Raging continents of desire
Growing giants in opposition?
Should these people of my mind
Be tearing down each others' walls
Only to build theirs
To keep the neighbours out?
Moderation is extremely rare - as rare as stars
Or the midday sun
To a man lying on a bed
Of earth's ocean
Looking up through a waterfall of tears
Is it the world to blame, or me
Or is there no blame?
