What is Love?

The ocean and the periwinkle

She was a periwinkle
At the ocean’s edge
An endless tide of experience
Picked her up
Put her down
Twisted her
Turned her
Filled her, emptied her
Stranded her
Restored her to the sea
What is the problem?, said the ocean.
I wish I were more
Than a shell of myself!
Shall we swap places?, asked the ocean
Then you may move me.
So the ocean and the periwinkle swapped places
And all those who passed
Heard a small voice from a distance:
I am a periwinkle
At the ocean’s edge...
